Applying For Energy Grants in Ireland
Home Energy Saving Schemes
The home energy saving scheme permits property owners, property owners and those with a wide range of premises to manage to enhance their current homes energy efficiency.
This is done by upgrading wall and roof insulation, upgrading heating controls and high efficiency boilers.
Insulation grants are accessible to qualifying house owners and are becoming more widely available.
Household owners who're looking to upgrade the energy efficiency of their own home may want to take a look at signing up for a grant.
You must have grant approval ahead of when you buy materials or start any grant-funded energy saving work
If you have already began work, you may not be entitled for a grant.
However, a prior to BER can be done ahead of grant approval and may even prove helpful when you're unsure about your energy saving possibilities or what to get done first.
If you click on the link provided and you can sign up for for these grants via the web http://www.dewar.ie/energy-grants/home-energy-saving
To be able to qualify for a grant you need to be the owner of a house that is built before 2006.
You must choose one of many contractors from SEAI’s authorised list and have a BER performed after the works are done (this applies from 8 June 2010).
Remember to use a BER assessor from SEAI’s National Register and apply for a minimum amount of €500 with your first application.
You can make an application for a number of grants under the scheme to reach the €500 minimum application amount but a BER grant cannot form part of this amount.
If the cost of the work (including VAT) is less than the maximum grant amount, you'll get a grant for the total cost of the work
